nanlt from 2008 to 2009, homicide totals dropped dramatically last year. washington, d.c. hit a 45-year low. according to a report in yesterday's "washington post," the district saw 140 murders, compared to 186 the year before. that's a 25% drop. prince georges county logged 100 down from 135. montgomery county also saw a significant drop in homicides last year. a former rotc instructor on the eastern shore will face a judge on sex abuse charges. he has been charged with sexually abusing a 15-year-old female student. mr. ross will turn himself in on wednesday. police say the abuse happened during a fund raiser in october. one month later he resigned at sea fourt high school. the tall ban in pakistan has claimed responsibility that killed seven c.i.a. employees. it said one of those carried out the suicide bombing as revenge for a militant leader killed. the c.i.a. has yet to confirm these claims. iraq is threatening to sue the five black water security guards cleared of man slaughter charges. the guards are accused of opening fire at a crowded baghdad intersection killing 17 iraqi civil
